Thanks, Church
published: Friday | March 30, 2007

The Editor, Sir:

I take this opportunity to thank the church groups and their leadership for the bold step they have taken to assist with the cleaning up of the city. Even if it took Cricket World Cup 2007 to awaken our consciousness that our cities and towns need to be cleaned and kept clean, I still say it's a step in the right direction.

There are those who feel that this should have been done long ago and should be the responsibility of the State. I do agree, but it is never too late to do something good, and instead of asking "What is the church doing?" as we are always saying, let us all join hands and hearts together and participate if we can.

Instead of asking what the country can do for us, let us ask ourselves what we can do for our country. When all is said and done we as Jamaicans will be proud.

I am, etc.,

PATRICIA POWELL

Southfield P.O.
