The true splendour and attractiveness of the $200 Jamaican Cricket World Cup (CWC) 2007 sheetlet is lost when persons sending their mail detach the postage stamp and affix it to the mail item.
The postage stamp, a separate component of the sheetlet, is actually a photo of the CWC trophy. Being perforated, it is designed to enable detachment from the sheetlet, but as with any memorabilia, the significance is diminished when the entire item is not maintained in its original form.
This applies when the sheetlet is not mailed intact. Customers are encouraged to send mail with the sheetlet intact if possible - it makes a great souvenir.
This sheetlet design incorporates a map of the Caribbean bordered by flags of the following Caribbean nations: Bahamas, Turks & Caicos Islands, British Virgin Islands, Anguilla, St. Kitts & Nevis, Antigua & Barbuda, Montserrat, Dominica, St. Lucia, Barbados, St.Vincent & the Grenadines, Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago, Grenada, Jamaica and The Cayman Islands.
Postal staff urged to 'Rally Round WI'

The 'Rally Round the West Indies' poster display at the Central Sorting Office is intended to boost support among postal staff for the regional team. Prepared by the welfare office, it provides a brief history of the West Indies cricket team; its symbols and their origins; as well as aspects of the rules of the game and terminology.
Welfare Officer Marcia McDonald said that many persons who saw the posters had not previously had any interest in cricket, but began to 'pay attention' to the international cricket competition now under way in the Caribbean. She added that everyone remains hopeful that the West Indies win their remaining matches and advance.
