NAGGO HEAD's coach, Wayne Fairclough, yesterday finally accepted his team's obvious fate, demotion to Confederation football, following a 0-0 draw with Seba United at Ferdie Neita Park.
The draw moved Naggo Head to 14 points at the foot of the standings but, with six games to go, the Wray and Nephew National Pre-mier League debutants have no hope of avoiding the plunge.
"It's not looking good for us. Our chances are getting slimmer," Fairclough said after the stalemate which pushed Seba to 29 points, well clear of Naggo Head and next-to-last Wadadah, who remain on 19 following a 4-1 drubbing at Tivoli Gardens.
CLEAR CHANCES
"We got clear chances and squandered them," Fairclough added, saying his team is ready to fight to the bitter end.
"We got simpler chances than Seba but faulty finishing and shooting let us down again," he said.
After surviving at least three chances from Seba's Ricardo Geddes in the first half, Naggo Head came close to stealing three points in the final five minutes but Mark Newsome's powerful shot on the run, after cutting in from the left side, slammed into the far post.
Bridgeport Manning Cup star Kenardo Forbes pounced on the rebound but goalie Neil Lynch did well to parry his low shot at full stretch.
Seba, seemingly happy to see out the season, had Geddes to blame for not winning by at least two goals.
