EDITORIAL - Campaign funding hypocrisy
Earlier this week, we lamented in these columns the missed opportunities and opportunism that have attended the Trafigura debate. But it is not yet too late, we believe, to salvage something of real value from this unfortunate episode.

The first Easter

I will bet 10 cents - that's what I can afford not having won the $120 million-plus Lotto last week - that you did not know that columnists, talk-show hosts and journalists from Jamaica covered the events leading up to the first Easter in Israel 2,000 years ago. (Neita)

Do MPs have to pay for funerals?

THE EDITOR, Sir: I didn't know whether to laugh or cry when I read your lead article of April 4. For sure, I was embarrassed and saddened. It was not the notion of a pay raise per se that caused my consternation. After all, how much one works and how much he/she is compensated is often a very subjective matter...

Issue: Easter celebration challenged

'Easter' is in the air and if I should ask: "Why does one celebrate Easter?" There would be a unanimous response of it having to do with Christ's death and His resurrection.
