Convicted drug dealer killed, Pimp Juice franchise owner shot
published: Saturday | April 7, 2007

East Kingston strongman and convicted drug dealer, Errol Laze, otherwise known as Bobby Reds, was one of two men killed during an attack by gunmen at premises on Balmoral Avenue in St. Andrew on Wednesday night.

Laze, 47, of Kirkland Avenue and David 'John' Henry, 27, of Ricketts Avenue, both in St. Andrew, were killed.

The owner of the Pimp Juice franchise in Jamaica was also shot in the incident.

Reports from the Constabulary Communication Network are that, about 9:15 p.m., Bobby Reds and three other men were at a car mart on Balmoral Avenue when a white Toyota car with about four men drove up. An occupant alighted from the vehicle and immediately opened fire hitting the four men.

Laze died on the spot, while the other three men were hospitalised. Henry succumbed to his injuries and the others were admitted in serious condition.

Police also said two 9mm pistols were found at the scene which the police suspect belonged to the victims.

Property seized

Bobby Reds was the owner of the first property to be seized by the state under the Drug Offences Forfeiture of Proceeds Act.

In 1998 the Government seized his house, valued at $6.5 million, after he was convicted on drug charges.

The Half-Way Tree central investigating branch is probing the incident.
