Two found deadin Tredegar Park
published: Wednesday | April 11, 2007

Spanish Town, St Catherine:

The St. Catherine North police are yet to establish a motive behind the deaths of two men, killed in Tredegar Park, on Easter Sunday.

According to the lawmen, there is evidence to suggest that the two were taken from another parish and killed in the area.

Reports are that at about 11:00 p.m., residents in Tredegar Park heard explosions and the following morning, the gunshot-riddled bodies were discovered in bushes.

Preliminary investigations have suggested that the bodies were transported to the scene by a white Townace minibus which was abandoned nearby.

Up to yesterday, only one of the bodies was identified, that of Mark Watson, a 25-year-old labourer of Yallahs, St. Thomas.

According to police, this is the third time since January that two or more persons have been killed at the same time in the division. Early in the year, five men were killed by a lone gunman in the Swamp Lane area of Bog Walk. Also, on March 8, a pregnant woman and her partner were shot and killed in the Rosemount Lane Area, again in Bog Walk.

There havebeen 36 murders so far in the division, 12 fewer than the corresponding period last year.
