PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Jamaica is now registered with the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) in the United States, which allows the firm to audit the books of American companies and their major subsidiaries.
The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) does not accept audit reports from non-registered firms in respect of U.S.- listed companies.
Pricewaterhouse says it is the first auditing firm in Caricom to register under the PCAOB, a body created under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.
