The Editor, Sir:
I must say that I am continually amazed at this region's politicians' ability to try and pass the blame.
Having read Mr. Dehring's reply to the several unfair and, I dare say, disingenuous remarks made by certain politicians concerning the Cricket World Cup and the terms upon which we entered into the agreement, I am convinced more and more that responsibility is something lacking in the character of our politicians. Did they not read the agreement they bound the several Caribbean nations to?
Mr. Dehring, you need not have made any reply to these louts we call servants of the people. You have organised a successful tournament so far. As for Minister Davies and Mia Mottley and those of that ilk, pay them no mind.
Talk of a 'Caribbean cricket culture' is all well and good, but this is a world event and sporting events around the world have to succumb to certain strictures or else they would not be held. Those who attended the matches at Sabina Park by and large enjoyed themselves. Keep up the good work.
I am, etc.,
