Flintoff to test injured ankle ahead of Test
published: Wednesday | May 16, 2007

Flintoff

LONDON (Reuters):

ENGLAND ALL-ROUNDER Andrew Flintoff will test his injured left ankle today before deciding whether to play in the first Test against the West Indies starting at Lord's tomorrow.

"He didn't bowl today," team spokesman Andrew Walpole told reporters yesterday. "He will bowl tomorrow and we will assess his chances of playing then."

Flintoff, who has twice undergone operations on his ankle, reported some discomfort after playing for his county Lan-cashire against Hampshire on Saturday. He missed most of last year's English season because of an ankle problem.

Captain Michael Vaughan has already been ruled out of the match after breaking a finger.
