The Optimist Club of Barbican Pines lived up to its slogan, 'Friend of the Youth', last Saturday as they hosted a tea party to remember.
'Tea, coffee and thee,' featured performances from Company Dance Group, which danced to the Lord's Prayer, while new singing sensation, Camille wowed the crowd with her sultry voice. She first wowed the crowd with an original called, "What it is" before being called back for an encore and sang Alicia Keyes "If it ain't you baby."
Guests in attendance were also entertained by trumpeter Everald Ray better known as Ray from Lloyd Parkes and We The People Band who was also accompanied by the pianist Inez Whittiker.
The club's chorale also entertained the crowd with a medley of folk songs that stirred up a lot of laughter.
However, the highlight of the night was the fashion show that displayed various fashions for the youth.
From bikini's to formal wear, it was all there for the eyes to see.
Designers Jamie Spence and Jaye-Ann O'Connor of Yahdie Conscious showcased unique T-shirts, tanks, and polo shirts for the young at heart.
With Summer aroundthe corner, parents and teens were also shown a variety of bathing suits and casual outfits for every occasion courtesy of Prime Sports and Tramps in Mid-Way Mall, Manning's Hill Road.
But summer is not all about partying and for the formal occasion, models wore dresses, skirts and pant suits that can can be worn to a ball or a graduation.
The fun wasn't all for the youth as Optimist Dolsie Cameron won the prize for the most unique hat during the hat parade for her unusual multi-coloured hat. Optimist Fay Malick also walked away with with a coveted prize, that of the best hat, a mint green classical hat that stood out from the rest.
