Carolle Hainsley, former deputy postmaster general, administration, is now on pre-retirement leave.Mrs. Hainsley started her career in the public service in 1963 at the Agricultural Credit Board, and moved up the ranks to become an accountant there in 1973.
Her managerial career took shape at the Post and Telecommunications Department in 1988. She was promoted from director of finance to become deputy postmaster general in 1998 and has acted as postmaster general on a number of occasions, representing the nation at several international postal seminars and conferences.
She was honoured as runner-up for the 2006 Civil Servant of the Year Awards by the Cabinet Office, and was awarded a citation for loyal and dedicated service.
Education
Mrs. Hainsley has studied at the University of the West Indies and the Management Institute for National Development, and also pursued advanced international postal management courses.
The Post and Telecommunications Department wishes to express its thanks and pay homage to a public sector management specialist whose career focused so much on the development of others and a truly first-class Jamaican postal service.
