Letters - Doctor 'cures' his arthritis
published: Wednesday | July 4, 2007

Dear Ms. Thompson,

I am a colleague of Dr. Robert Robinson and before I migrated he did tell me about this food supplement. At thattime it was called 'Natural Acidified Honey' and only available at a pharmacy in Liguanea. It works!

I am overweight and was afraid to exercise because of lack of energy and joint pains. I was also mildly hypertensive. Once I started this thing, with much disbelief, I started to feel better - more energy, increased exercise, no joint pains and off all medication for blood pressure.

I now live in the UK and am no longer able to get this wonderful product. Living here is enough to make you ill so I would like to find a here.

Bazil Brown

Dear Ms. Thompson,

I am interested in knowing more about the supplement referenced in your article. I reside in the United States but find it intriguing. Thanks for your article and your help.

N.H.

Dear Ms. Thompson,

I am a 'yardie' up in New Hampshire. I am intrigued with this Immuno-gizer. I tried looking it up on the web, but all the sites point back to your article in the Gleaner. Is this product a Jamaican product? If so, where can one get it? By the way, loved your article. I try my best to keep current with JA news.

Exercises for arthritis

Dear Mr. Garnder,

I am 40 years old and have arthritic knees. Arthritis runs in my family as all members of the paternal side have various versions (hands or knees) of this disease. Presently, my mobility is not affected.

In my younger years, I was an exercise enthusiast, visiting the gym six days per week for two hours per day. In my late 20s my knees would pain during exercise and so I stopped exercising more out of fear than discomfort my orthopaedic surgeon recommends low-impact aerobics, I am really very afraid to do so. I try to maintain a balanced and healthy diet however, I have not done regular exercise in over 10 years!

I now wish to embark on a weight loss and toning exercise programme. Can you recommend some exercises for someone with my 'fear' and condition? Can I attend the gym and just do weight training and not do aerobics and still lose weight? Will any of the new exercise aids eg., gym ball, assist in taking pressure off my knees during exercise?

R.C.
