Guyanese players swept four of the eight titles as the 2007 Junior Caribbean Area Squash Association (CASA) Championship finished individual competition on Monday night.

In the eagerly anticipated boys' Under-19 final, Jamaican Chris Binnie confirmed his status as that age-group's best when he dismissed second seed Josh Pinard, of Trinidad and Tobago, 9-7, 9-2, 9-3.

Alex Arjoon, the No.1 seed, led the Guyanese charge when he retained the Boys' Under-15 title with a victory in straight games over Trinidad and Tobago's Kale Wilson 9-3, 9-4, 9-5.

His teammates Ashley Khalil, Abishek Singh and Victoria Arjoon also collected titles at the Tortola Sports Club.Trinidad and Tobago, who placed six players - the most by any team - into finals, suffered the huge disappointment of failing to win a single title. Barbadian Cheri-Ann Parris beat T&T's Tessa Martin for the Girls' Under-19 championship, and Cayman Islands' players Alain Mudeen and Samantha Hennings captured the two Under-17 crowns.

Yesterday was a rest day and team competition begins today. Guyana are the defending overall champions and girls' champions, while Bermuda emerged boys' team champions last year.
