The St. Elizabeth Homecoming Foundation (SEHF) has expressed regret at the passing of Glenister 'Glen' Henry, O.D., who died at age 73 on July 11 and is being buried today. The SEHF has described Henry as an outstanding and upright St Elizabethan who made a significant contribution to the development of the parish in the field of agriculture. He revolutionised goat farming in the parish and became Jamaica's largest goat producer.
"He was a great community person who participated fully in the development of the Pedro Plains and Treasure Beach communities and was one of the community role models. A man of high integrity and religious belief, he was humble and had a great love of his community, parish and nation," the foundation said. "Henry participated in the homecoming activities of the foundation and made significant contributions to our investment and agricultural conferences over the years. He also provided the foundation activities with agricultural products."
He was a Best of St. Bess Golden Awardee.
"We wish to convey our sincere condolence to his family, especially to wife and son, Dolris and Bernard, the Pedro Plain and Treasure Beach communities," the SEHF said.
His funeral takes place today at the St. Peters Anglican Church, Pedro Plains, Treasure Beach, starting at 11:00 a.m.
