The choice is yours
published: Saturday | August 4, 2007

THE EDITOR, Sir,

With Jamaica's current state, can any Jamaican remain uncommitted? This election goes beyond commitment to a party, it is crunch time for every Jamaican to make a commitment to Jamaica.

We are where we are because we have put selfishness and politics above our country and thousands of Jamaicans have paid for it with their lives. Hundreds of thousands are paying for it in inhumane living conditions and the list goes on.

A decision has to and will be made on August 27, with or without you. However, will you leave the decision as to the future of Jamaica in the hands of those who put political affiliation above country, some of whom boast that "even the fowl a yard is P ..."?

Nobody in Jamaica has any doubt after 18 years in power what one party can do. Do you want more? The choice is yours. Think carefully before you do, but please make a commitment to go out and vote.

I am, etc.,

HAROLD MICHAEL

St. Andrew
