In her inaugural speech, Chambers vowed to vigorously continue to .pursue the issues affecting the members of the association, working closely with Jamaica Customs, the Port Authority of Jamaica, port operators, carriers' agents, the Government and all other related agencies of the industry and the wider business community.

Direct customer focus

Chambers said: "I intend to have direct customer-focused relationships with all the stakeholders within the industry and to look at ways to further strengthen the association. Training will be a critical component of the way forward for the forwarding community, as with the continuous global changesin transport logistic, we must keep our membership trained and informed."

She also had high praises for her predecessor, Beverly Johnson, who did not seek re-election.
