Tivoli confident
published: Tuesday | August 14, 2007

Robert Bailey, Freelance Writer

Zone Three leaders Tivoli Gardens will meet Boys' Town in today's feature game of the Kingston and St. Andrew Football Association (KSAFA) Under-17 competition at Collie Smith Drive, starting at 4:30 p.m.

In the day's other game, Waterhouse will host Greenwich Town at Drewsland.

Tivoli Gardens lead the zone with 10 points, followed by Boys' Town in second place on six points, Waterhouse five, Arnett Gardens four and Greenwich Town three points.

Christopher Burnett, coach of Tivoli Gardens, is very confident of victory.

"We are expecting to win today's game because we have a fairly balanced team, and the Boys' Town is not a strong team this year," said Burnett.

Leading scorer

"They (Boys' Town) have lost a lot of their players this season to other clubs, so we are expecting to comeout of this game with all three points," Burnett said.

The west Kingston based team will be relying heavily on their leading scorer, Trydon White, who has so far netted nine goals this season and midfielders Omroy Simpson and Jovan Hussey.

However, Steve Bull, coach of Boys' Town, says they will be pressing for a win.

He said: " We are expecting to win this game because if we win this game is will enhance our chances of making it to the second round. So we are definitely going to take it very seriously."

Bull added: "I know that Tivoli (Gardens) always have a very good crop of players and the expectation is always very high whenever they are playing against us."

Marlon Murphy, Jamiel Hardware and Leon Dobson are expected to lead the Boys' Town charge.
