JLP dominance of billboards
published: Thursday | August 16, 2007

One form of advertising in which the JLP dominates is the use of electronic and static billboards strategically placed to attract the attention of passers-by, whether motorists or pedestrians.

Among the billboards that have been attracting attention are two in Portmore that are constant reminders of the controversial toll over the causeway and the handling of citizens' concerns by the Government, especially Transport and Works Minister Robert Pickersgill.

One billboard pokes fun at the minister for his regrettable and politically incorrect 'time-of-the-month' comment to a questioner while the other states, 'Memba me TOLL you'. Fun aside, the billboards are a constant reminder that the toll issue has, arguably, made two Portmore constituencies vulnerable for the PNP.
