What a soirée!
published: Sunday | September 2, 2007

Janet Silvera, Senior Gleaner Writer

Nevada Powe and Michelle Neita are all smiles, enjoying a night filled with great conversation and the lyme of the century.

WESTERN BUREAU:

Elegantly dressed aluminium buckets played hosts to Pinot Grigio, Lauren Pavier Rose, Ruffino Chianti and several of the world's finest wines, while fabulous Burgundy and Bordeaux goblets stood ready to satiate the taste buds.

At Wine with Me, Cecile Levee would have it no other way than classy, as she celebrated her 44th birthday with gusto last Wednesday night.

Birthday girl Cecile Levee (second left) made sure to celebrate in the true sense of the word. Here she is picture-perfect with friends (from left) Jackie Bird, Maureen Shaw and Sandra Kennedy, at her soirée.

Embracing the fabulous years, the birthday girl donned a long green cleavage cutting dress. Hugging the ensemble with undeniable sex appeal, substance, charisma and allure - absolute attributes that had the ability of impressing several friends who came from Italy, United States, Kingston, Ocho Rios and Negril in her honour.

What's that she's saying? Birthday girl Cecile Levee and husband Kevin.

Among her friends were also the lifeblood of the economic engine that oils her business; the customers who have been supporting her latest venture, Montego Bay's only wine bar and fine dining restaurant, located at the town's newest small hotel West.

In the midst of the excitement of an evening that Levee will savour for years to come were three of the most important people in her life: daughters Spencer and Kennedy, and husband Kevin.

No need for music

The fabulous Cecile Levee (centre) pays what is called special attention to daughters, Spencer (left) and Kennedy, at her birthday party.

There was no need for music at this soirée; great conversation, fantastic lyming, unbelievable orgasmic marinated olives, delicious bruschetta, cheeses and grapes were enough to fill the evening.

Judy Farmer and her better half, Courtney Hamilton, having the best of Betco's red wine.

There were no speeches; people found time to speak about Sweet Meat's succulent lamb, that this writer and April Parchment-Knight will plant in the earth, water the bones and hope that one day they will grow in our homes. Yes, the lamb at Wine with Me is the best in the country.

Lamb aside, in attendance at Levee's birthday bash were the likes of Sharron Sloley, a woman others like to envy because of her fabulous body; the gorgeous and stunning Sheila Khiatani and her handsome husband Sunil; Gary and Anna Williams, who have been her friends for all of 17 years; her towers of strength Sandra Kennedy and mother Yvonne Hayles, who did the restaurant's decor. Friends Jackie Bird, Maureen Shaw and Karen Neita were all out in their ackee.

Others spotted were former Olympian sprinter Donovan Bailey; the beautiful Kerry Ann Clarke; Italian sommelier Marco Boscalgier and Jamaica's own Chris Reckord. Terry-Kaye James, the hotelier who knows how to keep luxury at its best; Peter Fraser; Andre 'Top Dollar' Dixon; Carol Sammy Jo; Richard Bourke; Karen Lannigan, Tabetha Athey, who is now with Wisynco, Bruce Hart, Donahue Jarrett, Jackie Eldermire, Judy Farmer and Courtney Hamilton.

Also, Seymour Knight, Michelle Neita, Nevada Powe, Debra and Doug Gore, Sam James Jr., Sara and Howard Owens, Christian Ghisays, Frank Perolli, Pam Tulloch, Dr. Margaret Kerr, Ted Ruddock, Heather Weir and Denton Campbell, Lascelles' Marilyn Bennett and Deborah Taylor, CPJ's Devon Reid, Tom Tyler, Errol Cummings and Betco's Denzie Sinclair literally added that extra special effect to the occasion.
