
The 2007 Land Rover Range Rover Sport. The model sold 67 units in August. - contributed Land Rover Latin America and the Caribbean Regional Office (LACRO) is reporting its best ever August sales for the rugged brand in four years.
Land Rover sold 204 vehicles in the region last month, saying the performance topped the comparative 2006 period by 92 per cent and beat peak monthly sales in 2003.
Additionally, total sales year to date were 17 per cent higher than combined sales for the matching period last year.
"These figures are an evidence of the satisfaction of Land Rover consumers," said Franco Fodor, General Director of Land Rover Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean.
Growth trend
"The growth," he said, "also confirms the trend in the region."
Its Range Rover Sport was among the preferred buys in August, said LACRO, selling 67 units.
The car division has taken the new numbers as a sign that the brand has "sustainable growth" potential in the region.
Land Rover, though based in Britain, is owned by American carmaker Ford.
LACRO is part of the Premier Automotive Group, which is a division of Ford Motor Company.
Land Rover's Jamaican dealer is John Crook Automobiles Limited, a subsidiary of conglomerate Lascelles deMercado and Company Limited.
