Attack of vampires
published: Wednesday | September 12, 2007

The Editor, Sir:

In recent weeks, since the passage of Hurricane Dean, my family and I, and to a large extent, residents of Bonitto Crescent, in Mandeville, have been under attack by some enormous looking blood-sucking 'vampires'.

For me, there is nowhere else left on my body for them to bite. Even my neck has come in for its fair share of attack. As I compose this letter, I am sweating in pants, long-sleeved shirt and socks; I discarded the ear muffs a few minutes ago.

We are asking the relevant authorities to please come in and spray the area as soon as possible.

Certainly, we do not want to hear of another malaria outbreak before something is done. Please, let's get rid of these damn mosquitoes before they get rid of us!

I am, etc.,

JACQUELINE WRIGHT
