Lincoln Wynter body - Contributed In 1987, a sexy 16-year-old Campion College student gave rise to a new look in men's fashion. A fine specimen of Jamaican and Cuban lineage, Pulse model Hector Lincoln Wynter, made his home country proud as he became the much celebrated face for several international campaigns and editorials. The son of Dina and the late Hector Wynter (a former editor of The Gleaner), Lincoln was raised between Jamaica and Florida. Shortly after being discovered by Pulse, he moved to France and entered the international model market.
Lincoln was signed to the Marilyn Gaultier agency in Paris, Why Not in Milan, and Irene Marie in New York. The collaboration of these agencies opened a floodgate of clients for Hector. These include Vogue, Lacoste and the much acclaimed Gucci campaign.
This proved to be a very significant job as the controversial photo from this renowned shoot became the poster image and talking point of fashion editors, industry image makers and even president Bill Clinton of the United States.
Extensiver work experience
Jet-setting across the globe, over the years, Lincoln has worked in Paris, Milan, New York, Miami, Toronto, Montreal and much of the Caribbean. He's done several gigs for The Bay, Sapporo Beer, Macy's, Saks Fifth Avenue, JC Penny, Sears Coca-Cola, K-Mart, Budweiser and campaigns for ultra-fashionable brands such as Ralph Lauren and Bennetton. After all this, Hector is still going strong. Sports wear big brand Nike engaged his services, as did the multi-billion dollar ubiquitous Microsoft.
Although firmly placed in the fashion industry, Hector made time for his other, but no less significant, love — theatre and acting. A Graduate of New York's prestigious Actor's Institute, Hector has appeared in popular television series, including, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Hope and Faith, Third Watch, and the original Jamaican soap opera Royal Palm Estate. His efforts in the film industry were rewarded when he landed roles in feature films like Freedom Land, 50 Cent's biopic, Get Rich or Die Tryin', Treasure Island, as well as the major production The Devil Wears Prada.
Now based in New York, Hector obviously possesses the golden touch and makes good on all the projects that he explores. Added to his credit, he has appeared in music videos for reggae stars Maxi Priest and Black Uhuru, and has even had a stint as a comedian performing at venues like Stand-Up New York, Gotham Comedy Club, The New York Comedy Club and Caroline's.
Local projects
In spite of all his accomplishments, the former Pulse supermodel still manages to keep himself grounded with local projects, including his role as a VJ on the Caribbean lifestyle channel, Tempo, and as an integral part of the Pulse mega fashion and style event, Caribbean Fashion Week (CFW). Wynter has appeared on all CFW shows and serves as correspondents with fellow Pulse original supermodel Kimberley Mais for th Caribbean Fashion Weekly show. Hector was recently in Jamaica and made an appearance at the Caribbean Model Search finale in the much, raved about Supermodel Reunion. He was the sole male supermodel to be recognised for his contribution to the early development of Pulse's Caribbean fashion history.
After all these years, the youthful Lincoln is as fun loving as ever. He's still kept as busy as when he first embarked on a career in modeling; balancing modeling assignments and acting with his Tempo travels, which sees him exploring the culture and dynamism of several Caribbean isles.
