Portia must pick a vibrant team
published: Wednesday | September 26, 2007

The Editor, Sir:

I do look forward to a very strong, vibrant and energetic People's National Party (PNP) Opposition led by Portia Simpson Miller as Opposition Leader and PNP president.

She really needs to name a competent and erudite team of opposition spokespersons within her shadow cabinet in order for the country to have an effective and vocal opposition serving the country's interest directly and monitoring every detail of the Bruce Golding-led government.

Opposition Leader Simpson Miller needs to name a brilliant, young and visionary list of shadow spokespersons with fresh new ideas coming to the political process and exclude from her shadow cabinet those politically tired and ineffective and failed former PNP ministers of government.

I have a tremendous amount of respect for Mrs. Simpson Miller and I expect her as per usual to be an outspoken, energetic and stern Opposition Leader who will perform with distinction over the next five years.

I am, etc.,
