The Editor, Sir:
The Jamaica Labour Party, which now forms the Govern-ment of Jamaica, seems to have not yet gotten itself out of the election politicking mode since September 3.
The constituents of Eastern Hanover must be feeling, by now, that their representation as a people in the House of Representatives is not worth much more than the ballot paper on which they cast their vote.
The political game being played out in the courts by the Jamaica Labour Party's lawyers has left the feeling of scant regard for the representation of the citizens of East Hanover.
In other words, their right to lobby for the welfare of their constituency in the Houses of Parliament has been virtually put on hold or flatly denied by their actions.
The other scenario that is being acted out in this saga is the notion that the ability of our magisterial judges to make sound judgements on matters brought before them should be held in doubt.
If the Jamaica Labour Party is serious about government and the governing of Jamaica it should, therefore, show concern for the representation of all its constituents and stop the politicking.
I am, etc.,
