Hi-Pro Ace to the fore on October 15
published: Thursday | October 11, 2007

Orville Clarke, Freelance Writer

NEXT MONDAY, Heroes Day, has been designated Hi-Pro Ace Day at Caymanas Park.

The company will sponsor two races on the October 15 holiday programme, one of these for native-bred maiden and untried two-year-olds.

Plans for the holiday meet were outlined by Oliver Thompson, marketing and sales manager of Hi-Pro Ace, Caymanas Track Limited's (CTL) executive manager for marketing, Millicent Lynch, and racing secretary, Denzil Miller Jr. at yesterday's launch in the boardroom at Caymanas Park.

Hi-Pro Ace has donated $500,000 for both races - $250,000 to the Hi-Pro Stables Choice Feeds Trophy two-year-race over 1300 metres which offers a total purse of $750,000, and the same amount to the three-year-old and up overnight allowance race for the Ace Supercentre Trophy over 1820 metres which also has a purse of $750,000.

In addition, Hi-Pro Ace will donate 30 bags of feeds to the first five horses past the post in each race, divided 10 each to respective winners, eight for second, six, four and two.

Feed incentives

There will also be feed incentives of 10 bags each for the nine additional races on the card. This will be divided five, three and two bags to the first three horses past the post in their respective races. All these races, with the exception of the grade one Governor General's Stakes over 2000 metres, are named for Hi-Pro products and will offer trophies.

Racing fans will not be left out of the promotion as there will be giveaways to lucky punters at Caymanas Park in the form of $1,000 Supercentre vouchers, among other things, while the popular Kiddies Stables will be activated.

The $1.1 million GG Stakes will bring together Jamaica's two super horses - the reigning 'Horse of the Year' MIRACLE MAN and his recent conqueror, DISTINCTLY IRISH, in a mouth-watering clash.
