Abeng among eight claimed

Eight horses were claimed at Caymanas Park last Saturday, including ABENG who romped the third race over the circular nine course.

The front-running four-year-old gelding was taken from trainer Gary Subratie for $340,000 by trainer Patrick Lynch on behalf of Rosiedoll.

Another winning horse claimed was CAPTAIN BONE out of the sixth race over 1600 metres. One of two winners for the apprentice Carlton Malcolm and trainer Gary Subratie, CAPTAIN BONE was picked up for $305,000 by trainer Desmond Shand on behalf of Robert Byers. Also claimed in this race was REGAL SERENADE for $315,000 by trainer Lawrence Freemantle for himself and RAMADA for $315,000 by trainer Gary Subratie on behalf of Arscott Farms.

Disappointing favourite

In the seventh race, disappointing favourite MAMBO was taken from Freemantle for $170,000 by trainer Richie Todd on behalf of Joseph Lewars.

The final three claims came in the closing race won by the 26-1 outsider COCK ROBIN. The runner-up BONNIE'S VICTORY was picked up for $210,000 by trainer Robert Darby Sr. for himself, beaten favourite SHAHID also for $210,000 by trainer Wesley Perkins on behalf of Nadon and GRANDPA'S DREAM for $210,000 by trainer Leroy Tomlinson for himself.
