Simpson suspended

Title-chasing jockey Trevor Simpson has been suspended for one raceday by the stewards for careless riding aboard winning horse THE GREYT DOCTOR in the first race at Caymanas Park on Wednesday, October 31.

The five-time champion was also fined $2,000 after causing inter-ference to the runner-up MISTER OFFICER approaching the winning post.

Apprentice Andre Martin who rode BLUE MARLIN in the first race on Saturday, October, 27, was suspended for five racedays and fined $5,000 for being unprepared at the start (by his admission) and his failure to persevere sufficiently in the final 400 metres of the race.

The suspension will take effect on Wednesday, November 21.
