Reinterpreting Montague
I have been reading the concerns about the remarks made by Junior Minister Robert Montague and, as a young person, I'd love to broaden my interpretation. Could the statement that Mr. Montague made be interpreted as him telling the people of Portland that if they voted for the People's National Party candidate again, who was in power previously and did not fix the road, that simply meant they really didn't want the road to be fixed?
If this statement had been interpreted in this manner, could it still be classified as breaching the Corruption (Prevention) Act? I really don't think the way the media interpreted the statement was what Mr. Montague really meant to convey.

George Lee's error
Former Mayor of Portmore George Lee chose not to learn from the mistakes of others.
As a creature of the People's National Party, he should have known that his party was unsuccessful after their efforts to disrupt the livelihood of the Hellshire fisherfolk. How did he expect to succeed where his party had failed?
Perhaps, this local government election was was the first time in Jamaica where a group voted on an issue and not along party lines.

Time for prayer
The Lord Almighty is calling upon the wailing women and the intercessory priests of this nation to weep between the porch and th now. What is threatening this nation is worse, far worse, than what we have ever seen.
I appeal to the pastors to change their worship services to prayer meetings. Let's start the morning prayers in our homes and churches again. Let's remove the religious escapades and formalities and put on the sackcloth of prayer and fasting. Let us cry out to God for Jamaica. Let us raise the levels of prayer and supplication. We need our denominations to put aside selfish motives and plans; let Jamaica be the agenda.
God has promised and He will hear from heaven and He will heal our land.
