NEW YORK (Reuters):MINNESOTA'S ROOKIE running back Adrian Peterson scored two second-half touchdowns to rally the Vikings to a 20-13 win over the Chicago Bears on Monday night, their fifth victory in a row.
The Vikings (8-6) trailed 13-6 before Peterson scored on a one-yard run in the third quarter and an eight-yard rumble in the fourth to secure the comeback win.
"We just stuck with it all day," Peterson said.
"We knew what kind of game it would be, and we just stuck with it. They weren't making it easy .... but I told the guys to keep it going, keep pushing and we came up with the win."
The victory kept the Vikings in the running for an NFC wild-card spot and eliminated not only the Bears (5-9) from the post-season running, but also the Arizona Cardinals, Philadelphia Eagles and Detroit Lions.
The Bears took a seven-point lead into the halftime break through two Robbie Gould field goals and a one-yard touchdown run by Jason McKie.
