This season the clutch purse is hotter than ever. This sleek, fashionable little purse is just big enough to hold all your party, dinner or date essentials, but small enough to fit right under your arm or in the palm of your hand. When you are heading out at night, leave the big, bulky tote bags at home and throw your cellular phone, money, lipstick and keys into a glamorous clutch.

These leather clutches are party-perfect. Small but roomy, simple but elegant, they are every party-hopper's dream. And, like snakeskin, patent leather has been resurrected and revamped for hot new millennium style.
Carrying your clutch
Contrary to the name, clutch purses should not be 'clutched' and correct holding strategies differ, based on the style.
Small, hard shell purses should be held up high and close to the body.
Flat and boxy clutches, with small handles that extend from the zipper, should be slung over the wrist. This shows off the bag and frees your hands to hold your drink.
Long, envelope clutches should be held at one end with a dangling arm or directly under the arm. With envelope clutches, remember that bulge is bad. Keep the contents of the bag minimal to avoid changing its shape.
