Jamaica Customs Department presents Customs Week 2008

Customs Day is celebrated annually worldwide. To commemorate this day, the Jamaica Customs Department has planned a week of activities beginning on Sunday, January 20, under the theme, 'The Fight Against Drug Trafficking'.

The celebrations will end with a customs information fair on January 26, 2008 at the Dump Up Beach in Montego Bay, St. James, starting at 10:00 a.m. The objective of the fair is to promote better relationships and mutual understanding between Customs and our clients.

It will provide a golden opportunity for Jamaicans to interact with over 30 stakeholders from the private and public sector and to learn more about the operations of the Jamaica Customs Department. It will be a family affair with fun provided for the children.

The week's activities

January 20-26

Church services: Montego Bay, Sunday, January 20

Montego Bay: (main church service) Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, 1 Fourth Street, Montego Bay, at 9:00 a.m.

Kingston: Saxthorpe Methodist Church, 143 Constant Spring Road, Kingston 8, at 9:15 a.m.

St. Ann: Calvary Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church, 41/2 Church Crescent, St. Ann's Bay, at 11: 30 a.m.

Gleaner supplement, Thursday, January 24.

Customer Appreciation Day at several ports of entry, Wednesday, January 23.

Customs Information Fair, Dump Up Beach, Montego Bay, St. James, Saturday, January 26. Free admission.
