Jolie plans day-long vigil for mom Sunday
published: Saturday | January 26, 2008

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.

Angelina Jolie is planning a day-long vigil for the first anniversary of her mother's death.

The Tomb Raider star was left devastated after losing her 56-year-old mother, Marcheline Bertrand, to ovarian cancer on January 27 last year, and hopes Sunday's vigil will be a fitting tribute to the late actress.

A source close to Angelina said: "She wants to pay tribute to Marcheline in the best way she can. She is going to go with her partner, Brad Pitt, their children and her brother, James, to Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where Marcheline died.

"They are going to give a donation to the hospital's women's cancer research fund, and then they are going to visit Marcheline's grave."

Angelina is also planning to show her and Brad's adopted children, six-year-old Maddox, Pax, four, three-year-old Zahara and their biological one-year-old daughter Shiloh, pictures of their late grandmother.
