Style:STAKEOUT - THIS WEEK'S MOST STYLISH
published: Saturday | January 26, 2008

Wallace

Stephanie Wallace, 22

Singer, sociology major and mother, Stephanie Wallace, just returned from living in Europe when our style stakeout team caught up with her at the Grafton recording studios in Kingston. We couldn't resist her ultra urban rootsy style.

What's your favourite brand?

Forever 21, Wet Seal, Old Navy, H&M.

Where do you shop locally?

Bottoms Up and Miami Heat.

Give two words thatdescribe your style.

Sexy and soulful. I like to wear edgy clothing, but not the raw edge; I prefer very subtle and soulful fashions - things that are similar to what you would see in an Essence magazine.

What are you mostcomfortable wearing?

Dresses and a sexy pair of stiletto heels when I am going out. When I am chilling at the studio, I like camisole tops and a pair of jeans and, of course, accessories.

What is yourfavourite accessory?

Earrings and bangles.

What attracts theopposite sex to you?

My clothes keep them wondering what more there is to me; not too revealing, but sexy.

How do you rate yourself on a scale of 1-5, five being the highest?

I give myself a four because even on my worst days, I still try to look good.

Tashina McKenzie, 19

McKenzie

Tashina came to national recognition through her participation in the 2007 Digicel Rising Stars Competition. Currently being managed by popular music producer Mikey Bennett, she has done work with various popular and upcoming artistes. She is a student at the Justice Training Institute, pursuing a career in court reporting. She is the reigning Miss Kingston 11.

Where do you shop locally?

Miami Heat, Fantasia Shoes and Xtras.

What's your favourite brand?

Baby Phat. I currently own jeans and jewellery in the brand.

What is the last item you bought?

A pair of high-waist shorts with suspenders and a 'pumpkin arm' blouse.

What two words bestdescribe your style?

Trendy and conspicuous. I like to keep up with current fashions and stand out.

When was the last timeyou wore formal clothes?

I went to dinner at Golden Bowl Restaurant and I wore a knee-length black, sexy dress.

Was your style on RisingStars all you?

The clothes that I wore with a few exceptions fit my personal style. I had the help of a stylist called Tyrone.

What's your advice toyoung women on style?

Don't be too scandalous or naked and try to let what's on the inside be reflected in the clothes you wear.
