The lawns of Jamaica House became a showcase of the island's musical talent on Wednesday, and it was all for the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall. Their Highnesses and other guests were treated to excellent performances from a variety of young, local talent.
As the Champagne flowed, palates were satisfied by samplings from the best of the best. SSCO's Flute and Flames at the Poolside of the Terra Nova All Suites hotel was a gastronomic fare of delicious proportions.
A joyful year
After a blissful year, the extremely happy chairman of the Tourism Enhancement Fund (TEF) observed a week of luncheons and dinner parties, celebrating his first wedding anniversary, 70th birthday and wife Odette's years on earth. But Montego Bay's resident lovebirds knew the week had to climax at some point.
Red Stripe takes top prize
The movers and shakers of Jamaican business were wined and dined last Thursday at the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce (JCC) annual awards event at the Hilton Kingston hotel... Red Stripe took the Best of the Chamber Award for 2007 - washing away the competition.
A shining example of diplomatic style
He is easily one of the more beloved Canadian high commissioners to have served in Jamaica where in recent memory. His representation and conduct of official duties were bereft of the air of officiousness that some seem to adopt while serving.
