Model Sunna Gottshalk is the 10th Pulse model to be featured in one of fashion's most important publications, Vogue magazine.

Apearing in the French, German, Japanese, Italian, Spanish and American editions, the Pulse supermodels have made their mark on Vogue with a list that includes Kimberley Mais, Lois Samuels, Lincoln Wynter, Nadine Willis, Jaunel Mc Kenzie, 'Nell' Robinson, Rochelle Watson, Oraine Barrett and Gaye Mc Donald. Of the group, Lois Samuels made history when she was the first to appear on the cover of the German edition.

Historic significance

Nadine Willis' Vogue blitz at the beginning of her career also had its own historic significance as she made simultaneous appearances in five editions spanning three continents. Jaunel McKenzie holds the record for the most appearances, 12, in American Vogue. Oraine Barrett boasts the highest number of editorial pages for a single shoot captured by photographer Steven Miesel.

Like her predecessors, this marks the beginning of great things for Sunna, who was ecstatic to be number 10 on the list.

"I am so happy I can't even describe it," she told The Gleaner.

Sunna had impressed the persons at Vogue after being invited for an interview after her casting. The eight-page Vogue story was shot by Nagi Sakai in one of London's hip Kentish Town studios and came right on the heels of Sunna's searing 14-page Marie Clare spread shot on an African safari by Wayne Maser of Harper's Bazaar fame.

It just happened

At 22, Sunna has travelled the world modelling under the Pulse banner for the last four years.

Gotthshalk was discovered in Pulse's Caribbean Model Search in 2003 and placed among the top three. While she has become an 'it' girl with her 5'11" stunning figure, Sunna did not have modelling in mind.

She explained: "I grew up like a tomboy. To be honest, I never had a life-long dream to be a model; it's something that just happened. A friend told me to do it and I came to Pulse and I have to give thanks since then."

Aiming to broaden scope

The hardest task for the young model is keeping her sleek figure trim, but she strives to do just that.

Outside of modelling Sunna has an interest in music, as well as acting, and is looking forward to broaden her scope.

Within the next five years, Sunna hopes to be pulling in awards as a model and singer. In the meantime, Sunna will be looking stunning in Vogue and other campaigns.
