Caymanians, locals square off in St Ann
published: Saturday | May 31, 2008

Four visiting Cayman boxers will take on local counterparts in part four of the 2008 Burger King Boxing Series, dubbed 'Champions Stand Alone' tonight at Jus' Cheers in St Ann's Bay.

The quartet comprising super heavyweight Ronaldo Garcia, heavyweight Daniel Ebanks, welterweight Jason Parchment and lightweight Kendel Ebanks, accompanied by trainer Nayon 'Donnie' Anglin, arrived in the island yesterday. They will be looking to use this event to improve their skills as they, like the Jamaicans, lack inter-national experience.

In a novelty addition, the event will crown Jamaica's 'pound for pound' eating champion. 'Champions Stand Alone' will seek to raise funds for the Heavy Metal Iron Club - an up-and-coming gym situated in Windsor Heights, over-looking St Ann's Bay.
