Chung Fah football campLocal boys and girls, ages 8-18, will benefit from the Winston Chung Fah Summer Football Camp, scheduled for St Andrew from June 30 to July 18.
The camp which will be hosted at Campion College will feature local and international coaches, football scouts from European clubs and college scouts from the USA.
Chung Fah, the main instructor, has distinguished himself as a technical football expert for over 40 years. He is currently the technical director for the Academy Sports Club in the Cayman Islands., a position he has held for the past eight years. During this time the club has won the under 14 league for two years and the under 17 once.
Chung Fah is also a former high school, club and national coach in Jamaica. He has been organising clinics since 1982 and the Miami Classic International Youth Football Tournament is a product of his tutelage.

Table tennis coaches course
The Jamaica Table Tennis Association (JTTA) will be hosting training courses for coaches in Mandeville and GC Foster College over the next two weeks.
A JTTA media release stated: "It is a Level 1 Course targeting all practising table tennis coaches in the island, including coaches of national squads, plus coaches for high schools, prep schools, primary & all-age schools, business houses and clubs"
The release added: "Sponsorship is through the Olympic Solidarity Programme so there will be no cost to participate."
The venue for the first week, June 16-20, will be the Gymnasium of Church Teachers' College in Mandeville, with classes running from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, while G.C. Foster College in Spanish Town will be the venue for the second week, June 23-27, for the same duration each day.
The course will be conducted by development coordinator of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), Leandro Olvech and accommodation will be provided free of charge to participants who live far from either venue and need to stay over for the week.

Hotel football continues today
The JPS-sponsored Western Hotels Sports Association all-island football competition continues this afternoon with four matches.
In the 'group of death', Group B, Coyaba Beach Resort Hotel host Breezes Montego Bay at the UDC football field in Montego Bay, while in another Group B encounter, one of the fancied teams and second in the group so far, Round Hill Hotel, entertain Sunset Beach Resort and Spa at the Orchard Housing Scheme Sports Complex in Hopewell, Hanover.
Completing a trio of Group B matches, former champions and current leaders Half Moon Hotel should chalk up their second win at the expense of Iberostar Rosehall Beach Hotel, newcomers to this competition.
In another match Sunset Jamaica Grande take on newcomers Gran Bahia Principe at Drax Hall.
All matches commence at 4 p.m.
On Wednesday, newcomers Iberostar Rosehall Beach Hotel defeated Coyaba Beach Resort 2-0 at the Rosehall Resort and Country Club (Wyndham) football field
Masters League football
Action in the NCB 24-Hour Top-Up Masters League continues this afternoon with eleven games at six different venues across the Corporate Area.
At the Harbour View Stadium, Kush engage Harbour View in a game that can go either way. Kush are coming off a big six-goal win against Maxfield last Sunday, while HVFC will seek to recover from their upset 1-0 loss to quarter-final aspirants Santos.
At Winchester Park, Santos seek their fifth consecutive win when they face the might of the defending champions Park Rovers at 3 p.m. In the Winchester Park 4:30 p.m. game, St. George's host Shortwood. At Barbican Oval, Zone B leaders, Christian Ambassadors, put their perfect seven from seven winning record on the line when they tackle Barbican at 4:30 p.m. In the Barbican opener at 3 p.m., Thunderbolts are fancied over M.V. Exodus.
At Cable and Wireless Oval, at 4:30 p.m., Telecom Strikers host Real Mona. At Duhaney Park, Rae Town meet Professionals (3 p.m.), and it's Lion King against Brown's Town at 4:30 p.m.
At Up-Park Camp, Boys' Town get the nod over Maxfield at 3 p.m., and at 4:30 p.m., JDF should have their own way with Eastern.
Sunset Jamaica victorious
The 2008 renewal of the Western Hotels Sports Association-coordinated all island hotels netball competition sponsored by GraceKennedy through their popular brands Tropical Rhythms and Purified Water, continued on Wednesday.
In the lone match, which involved two winless teams, Iberostar Rosehall Beach defeated Sunset Jamaica Grande 45-35.The competition continues on Monday June 16 with three matches.
Mason Hall thrash Gayle 7-0
The Island Sports Trust championships continued at the Eden Park Sports Complex in Jacks River, St. Mary on Tuesday with three football matches.
In the curtain-raiser, Mason Hall Primary with four goals from Nikalia Byfield and three from Tashana Scott beat Gayle Primary 7-0.
The second game saw Labyrinth Primary and Mount Angus playing to a 0-0 stalemate.
In another encounter between Mason Hall Primary and Gayle Primary, Mason Hall Primary again came away victorious winning 2-0. Both goals scored by Dominique Hylton.
KSAFA Business House KO
In action from last Sunday's KSAFA Scotiabank Group Business House KO football competition, Unicomer Jamaica (formerly Courts) scored the largest margin of victory, a 9-1 win over NHT at the Old Men's Hockey Field in Mona
Locksley Thompson scored four times (fourth, 27th, 66th & 71st). Other scorers for Unicomer were Andre McLean (23rd & 73rd), Jermaine Oakley (54th), Omari Dennis (58th) and Romando Johnson (84th).
Over at the NWC playing field, defending champions NWC were knocked out in the first round by UWI 3-2 in a penalty shoot-out.
At Jessie Ripoll, Wisynco Group secured their second victory over Mobile Reserve this season. They clipped them 1-0 with Devon Brown scoring in stoppage time (91st), to give them victory. They had earlier won 2-0 in the league competition.
A brace from Alexi Dobson (22nd & 54th) gave Carib Cement a 3-1 victory over Cable & Wireless. Mark Poole scored the other goal in the 67th minute, while Jermaine Ricketts got the consolation for Cable & Wireless.
Portsmouth capture football title
Portsmouth 'A' of St Catherine defeated Mona 3-2 on penalties to capture the Milo Breakfast Cereal/Insports/Prep and Primary Schools six-a-Side rally knockout football competition at the Jamaica College playing field last Saturday.
Portsmouth went through the rally unbeaten. In the final match they won 3-2 on penalties after the teams had played to a goalless draw.
The competition will now turn to league format in six parishes slated to begin on June 17 through to August 30.
Eastern crush Rowe's Strikers
Leaders Eastern All-Stars were in devastating form in the fifth round of the Wray & Nephew skittles competition last Sunday when they crushed defending champions Rowe's Strikers 6-0 in the feature premier league match at Mystix, 78 3/4 Hagley Park Road.
Eastern won 6-0 after former singles champion Hubert Fletcher defeated Roy Facey in the sixth game, but played out all 11 games for a final score of 10-1.
In other matches played at Mystix last Sunday, Cherry's Strikers defeated Meadowvale for the second consecutive week, winning 6-3.
In the two other matches played at Mystix last Sunday, Mister C clipped The Dip 6-5 in major league action, while Olympic Strikers failed to honour their major league fixture against Mercury.
Mystix pool tourney
The third Mystix 8-ball pool tournament for 'A' and 'B' class players is scheduled to be played over two days on June 28 and 29 at Mystix Sports Bar, 783/4 Hagley Park Road.
The 'A' class winner of the tournament (best of five final) will receive $30,000 and a trophy, second $10,000 and third $5,000. The 'B' class winner gets $25,000, second $10,000 and third $5,000.
Entry fee for 'A' class players is $1,200, re-entry $1,000. For 'B 'class players, entry fee is $1,000, re-entry $800. For early bookings, call Leslie 'Toothpick' Puranda at 391-4666.
Players classified in 'A' class cannot enter the 'B' division, but 'B' class players can enter the 'A' league providing they pay an entry fee of $1,600.
