Michael holding, the former West Indies fast bowler, did the decent and moral thing by withdrawing from International Cricket Council's (ICC) cricket committee because of the ICC's flip-flop over Pakistan ball-tampering affair.
The Pakistanis were deemed to have forfeited a 2006 Test match against England when they refused to play anymore because an umpire accused them of unfairly tampering with the ball, which is to say, cheating.
The case was never proved. But two wrongs have never made a right. The Pakistanis had a right to be offended by the allegations and to complain against them and to demand due process.
But, abandoning their match was a breach of fundamental principle, which Michael Holding understands, but apparently not the ICC.
