If Portia goes ...
If the People's National Party (PNP) removes Portia, they will never see Jamaica House again. What my dear Prime Minister Bruce Golding should do is call a general election during the PNP annual conference and sweep all 60 seats. The PNP should pack up their bags and apply for political asylum in Haiti.
Haitian leaders are known for disunity and political chaos. The leaders of the PNP have destroyed the Portia aura. But Portia's dreams will continue to live in my heart forever.
But a note for Phillips; God is God and He is not asleep. He appoints leaders. Do not step in God's face. Bruce continues to change Jamaica for the better. A good leader indeed. 'Showa' for life. Portia is the boss for life! Long live the queen.

One party?
In response to the question, 'Do you believe this is the best time for Peter Phillips to challenge for the leadership of the People's National Party?', the question to be answered is, will there still be one party in the event that Simpson Miller wins?

Comparison
My personal opinion - Portia having a lot of charisma, flair and being able to identify with the masses does not constitute total leadership. Peter is more prepared mentally, physically, is very articulate, educated and is more prepared for the world political stage to represent Jamaica.

The Constitution
The fire must be rekindled on the debate about constitutional reform in our country at this time with the intention of making the constitution more relevant to the needs of the Jamaican people. A democratic country like ours should examine the effectiveness of our present constitution, seriously taking into account the goals and aspirations of our motto 'Out of Many, One People'.
The Constitutional Commission should discuss this matter of constitutional reform objectively because the present constitution is an off-shoot of the Westminster style of government. There are those who would like to see the abolition of the monarchy, not having the governor general as the Queen's representative in Jamaica. I believe that Jamaicans can now make its own position clear without interference from external forces by having a national consensus on this matter.
