Wet 'n' Wildlives up to expectations
published: Monday | August 4, 2008

Krista Henry, Staff Reporter

Friends Candice, Terry and Latoya from Montego Bay demonstrating the close bond among them at the Red Stripe Temptation Isle weekend of parties on Friday night, at Temptation Beach in Negril.

Xxxtreme Wet n' Wild held at the Kool Runnings Water Park last Saturday lived up to all the hype and expectation that havesurrounded the event since last year.

A part of the Appleton Treasure Isle (ATI) series, the day party had more activities to enjoy than any other party for the entire weekend. The water park opened its gates to eager patrons who waited outside the park for the scheduled 2 p.m. start time. Open to the public were the slides, floats, and more slides. Persons lounged on the reclining chairs, while the food section had a long line that lasted right throughout the event. The venue was equipped with four all-inclusive bars that were always crowded with persons.

It was a beach vibe in terms of dress, as women came out in bikinis and interestingly-cut swimwear, while the men were in beach shorts and T-shirts. From the beginning of the party persons were in a dancing mood as the selectors played some early 2000 dancehall songs. When the rain came pouring down heavily, the vibe only seemed to increase as persons danced regardless. Even persons waiting in the lines to go down the slides couldn't help dancing as they 'Weddy weddied', 'Scooby-dooed' and more.

When the rain eased up patrons who had sought shelter came back out and shortly the large venue was packed with persons walking around and enjoying themselves. The Gleaner spotted producer Stephen McGregor and the Big Ship family, DASECA and Spragga Benz enjoying the vibes.
