Support good boys
published: Monday | August 11, 2008

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I AM in full agreement with your point of view. We all don't seem to highlight and/or support our good boys.

I speak from experience. My son won a full-tuition scholarship to a top United States college to pursue classical piano performance, but getting help to assist with his housing was most difficult. None of the large organisations showed any interest. If it had not been for the Culture, Health, Arts, Sports and Education Fund and my employer, this talented young man would have been frustrated.

We need a culture that supports and congratulates those boys and girls who are achievers, even as we try to reform those who have gone astray.

I am, etc.,

LLOYD ROBINSON
