Message for youth
published: Wednesday | August 13, 2008

The Editor, Sir:

This is a message for youth: You do not have to kill, take drugs, get pregnant, be a gang member, steal, be a prostitute, carry a gun, to be somebody, to feel secure, to feel like you belong. You are a masterpiece that was created by God's own hands to be a beautiful display for the world to see.

Be the opposite of where you came from because at the end of the day, it would be worth it.

You do not have to be a slave to life circumstances when you have a seed inside of you, waiting to rejuvenate into something, like a beautiful butterfly. I say the youth of Jamaica are caught in a web, waiting for someone to help them to kill the spider.

I am, etc.,
