EDITORIAL - Suspect firearm safe keeping
To say that the process of the police holding licensed firearms for safe keeping, as is often dictated by law, is suspect, after Thursday's main story in The Gleaner, is putting it as best as possible.

I am usually good at planning my time. I had been working on a book, The Search, about some teenagers who were lost in the Blue Mountains some 70 years ago. Having finished it, my attention turned to finalising another book, this one about former Prime Minister Donald Sangster. (Neita)

Back to basics driving tips

The Editor, Sir: As the traffic authorities convene to examine ways to reduce road fatalities, I would like to suggest that they could focus on public education. I am thinking of a campaign called 'back to the basics of driving'.

Issue: Neglected for too long -14 years!

I write as a disgruntled resident of Brighton (New Market Area), St Elizabeth. This is due to the deteriorating conditions of the roads in that very small but prominent community.
