Former national striker Kevin Lamey is set to make his much-anticipated return to Waterhouse this season, according to head coach Wayne Fairclough.
"He will definitely be playing for Waterhouse this season," said Fairclough, in an interview with The Gleaner yesterday.
Lamey, who was on loan to Joe Public in Trinidad and Tobago last season, has had five caps for the national team, the last three of which came in the Digicel Cup qualifiers in 2006.
"Lamey is an inspirational player to this team because he is the leading and prolific goal scorer," Fairclough noted.
Lamey, who has played in the United States of America's 'A' League, was also loaned to Malaysian Second Division club, Kuala Lumpur Soccer Club in 2006.
The Drewsland based-team, which finished fifth in last year's competition, has lost a number of key players to other clubs this season.
Confidence
Despite this, Fairclough said he is confident they can win the title this year.
"I think our team will perform much better once Lamey is in our line-up this season. I know that we have a team that can beat any of our opponents on any given day," Fairclough noted.
Meanwhile, a number of the team's regulars from last season have transferred to other teams. Desmond Breakenridge has moved to Arnett Gardens, Jomo Gordon has returned to Harbour View, while Weston Forrest and Andre Hickling have moved to promoted side Meadhaven United.
Former national coach, Bradley Stewart, has been appointed technical advisor.
