Why pay AA to stay here?
published: Friday | September 5, 2008

The Editor, Sir:

I think it is a great idea to invest money to boost the tourism industry. However, I find it ridiculous that we are guaranteeing to pay American Airlines so that they will continue flights to our county.

If AA would cut its flight to the country, then Air Jamaica has the option of carrying those passengers. Would it then not be in the interest of our country to invest in our country's product?

Who really benefits the most in the end? Is it not AA?

I am, etc.,
