Palin paradox
published: Monday | September 22, 2008

The Editor, Sir:

It is a cruel paradox that the Republican Party, with numerous women of superior intellect should go to the remotest part of the country to find a woman of childbearing age, whose preoccupation has been with maternal responsibilities - having had five children, the last just four months old, and with a pregnant teen in the mix.

In most self-respecting societies, this would be regarded as shame and scandal in the family, yet she is paraded around the world as if it is the way to go. But, the most frightening of this is that in the realm of possibilities, this woman could become president of the United States and commander in chief! Maybe we do not know what we are in for.

I am, etc.,
