Multi-problems in Jacks Hill
published: Friday | October 10, 2008

The Editor, Sir:

Can someone please tell me why we are building sidewalks when we cannot even fix the gully at the bottom of Jacks Hill? We just seem to spend money in the wrong places no matter what. No wonder we have $1 trillion in debt.

Not only is it a job making these sidewalks taking months, but it is not supervised and they are making more of a mess than good. How can you also use cement to fix the road? This must be a very cheap contract as the workers don't even have light at night and have to use car lights to do the job. Can this be right? Is this Jacks Hill that pays so much taxes?

Fix the gully

Can the ministers that live up in Jacks Hill please try and fix the gully before more cars are washed into it and someone dies. Why put in sidewalks when most people walk on the road anyway? Was this a priority now with so many roads that are in worse condition.

The gully needs attention now and you will soon not be able to pass either up or down. I would not like to see what would happen if we were to have a major hurricane.

As I write this letter, we have no light, no water for weeks, and now, no roads. God bless all of us that have to put up with this mess.

I am, etc.,

PETER SHOUCAIR, JP
