Watson double puts 'Red Brigade' in good position
published: Friday | October 17, 2008

DENZIL WATSON'S double strike in Boys' Town's 2-1 win against St Georges yesterday moved the 'Red Brigade' to nine points and fourth place in the Digicel Premier League.

Playing at home, Watson's strikes came in the 45th and 56th minutes after Damion Harwood had given St Georges a 43rd-minute lead. They remain in eighth position on four points.

Had early lead

The game was being replayed after the original fixture on October 5 was stopped in the second half due to heavy rain.

Boys' Town could have taken the lead as early as the third minute but Watson's header veered wide of goal.

St Georges' Daniel Shaw went on the attack early and had two good looks at goal but his attempts were blocked by Boys' Town custodian Kirk Porter.

Easy shot

Just before half-time, Shaw fed an open Harwood for an easy strike in front of goal.

Two minutes later, Watson was fouled in the area by Ricardo Taylor, setting up his first goal from the penalty spot.

Watson was on target again 11 minutes into the second half when he toed the ball past Ralston Robinson after his initial shot was blocked by the goalie before bouncing right at his feet.
