Matisyahu comes full circle on 'Shattered'
published: Tuesday | October 21, 2008

Matisyahu

MATISYAHU, The American Hasidic reggae/hip-hop performer whose 2006 album, Youth, was a sensation in the United States, is back with an EP (extended play) of four songs sche-duled to be released today.

The EP, titled Shattered, precedes an album of new material by Matisyahu which is earmarked for an early 2009 by Epic Records.

"I didn't put out any new music in three years, so I wanted to tour this fall and give fans some new music to listen to. We sort of decided to split it up and put the EP out first. This way, at least people have something to listen to until the record comes out," Matisyahu told Billboard Magazine.

Matisyahu said that three of the four songs on Shattered will be included on Light, his new album. He worked with Sly and Robbie and Stephen McGregor on the latest set.
