The Editor, Sir:Danny Walker, you are my Jamaican hero. It's time for this intense level of corruption to be exposed and corrective measures implemented.
Your fine character should be replicated by many influential senior personnel in both govern-ment and the private sector. You exude boldness, honesty and determination in making tough decisions in eradicating corruption.
I admire you dearly.
For as long I can remember, I have heard of businessmen, whether lower- or upper-class, cheating government taxes by undervaluing goods and bribing customs officers, in return for low duties paid. I am not the only one, for sure, who hears of this.
True jamaican
Anyone who opposes your direction relating to transparency and change within the Customs Department, is without a doubt, a dishonest and corrupt individual.
And as a true Jamaican, it is time for integrity and honesty to prevail.
And to all dishonest customs officers, I say without any remorse, "Get a grip! No more easy Christmas bonus this year or as long Danville is present."
And to all honest customs officers, "Continue to give him the support that he needs because your involvement will provide increased pay for diligent teachers and nurses, who are longing for appreciation from the Government."
And to you my inspiration, "Job well done!"
